Very stoked to be supporting the one and only LTJ Bukem this month in my (other) hometown of Liverpool!
The D&B legend will make a special appearance, alongside Ruthless MC, in the Buyers Club on Saturday July 2nd.
Here’s the blurb… “If you were to construct a royal family of bass, LTJ Bukem would be in the running for the loftiest title of them all. The regal producer was one of the most important architects of D&B as it made it’s ascent from the underground in the early nineties, helping shape the sound with a flurry of productions and his hugely influential record label Good Looking records.
Still a heavy selector behind the decks, his forthcoming shows include Soundwave and the Social Festival, but in July he’ll be making a long overdue appearance in Liverpool for a very special performance at the Buyers Club – his first set in the city in many years.”
The Buyers Club venue has a limited capacity, it is going to be an intimate affair – for those who like ‘grown up’ Drum & Bass, so I’d advise getting tickets well in advance.

During the mid nineties Bukem held a residency at Liverpool’s infamous Cream nightclub. Almost exactly 20 years ago, in August ’96, BBC Radio 1 broadcast the ‘Logical Progression Party’ – LTJ Bukem and MC DRS’ set aired live from Cream, the recording is now regarded as one of the most defining Radio 1 ‘Essential Mixes’.
Live Bukem mixes have since become a rare thing! But bringing sounds bang up-to-date, here is his latest official studio mix…
Personally, this 2016 Liverpool night is massive! Along with fellow Merseysider – Greg Wilson, LTJ is a true hero of mine! both DJs being such influential pioneers within their own fields of music.
They say that you should never meet your heroes, but through my Northern Groove promo company, I worked behind the scenes with these 2 legends for several years. Yet as a DJ, I’ve never shared a stage with Danny Bukem. So it was very kind of my mate Paul (Substratum) to ask me to be a support DJ at this event. Paul and I both worked at Good Looking, although never at the same time, so this is a huge deal for us, and a long-time ambition finally realised.
Meet your heroes!
If you are in the area then we hope you can join the Bukem, MC Ruthless, Phil Charnock, Fiend, Paul McGuire and myself for what promises to be a very special night.
